[Adventure Week] Plus the Kitchen Sink

[Adventure Week] Yeti Arcade: Adventure Round-up

The most famous examples of video games in the adventure genre are Uncharted 2 and Tomb Raider, both of which owe a lot to the grand daddy king of modern adventure stories, Indiana Jones.

Here are a few more games along a similar vein...

Barbie: Explorer (2001):

Wait.  Say what? Barbie vs. Yeti?  Who could have seen that coming?  Yow.

Diamond Rush (2009):

Indiana Jones Adventure World: The Yeti Trail (2012):

...ADVENTURE!

Pulpy fun... Indiana Jones-style.

Not Yeti Friday - Al the Ice Gorilla

Al, the former mascot of the hockey team Syracuse Crunch, is NOT a yeti. He's an "Ice Gorilla".

Huh?

Upton Yeti

I wanted to make sure I blogged about Cammi Upton's other yeti. Previously blogged about them here and here.

I love her designs and wish I owned one.

O-Scale Yeti

For about seven bucks, you can get a tiny O-Scale yeti for your model railroads:

Anime: Genshi Shōnen Ryū (Ryu the Primitive Boy)

Genshi Shōnen Ryū (Ryu the Primitive Boy), a Japanese anime that ran from 1971-1972, was about a cave boy in prehistoric times.

In episode 10, Ryū encounters yeti and they aren't friendly.

Great to see this early 70s Japanese design.

In the story, Ryu is raised by an ape woman named Kitty, but she's not yeti, despite the white beard.
